So, I built my friend a Lightsaber, and display stand for Christmas! It’s his combination christmas present and 30th birthday present.
And technically, I didn’t built it, I bought it from ultrasaber, but I HEAVILY customized it for him. Let’s get right into it!

So, my dad got a new 135 gallon fish tank, and he bought a repeating pattern backing that was really bland and boring. I floated the idea of letting me do something really special for him, and he immediately said yes, before even hearing most of the idea.

We made a new piece! It’s called Dragon’s Breath. A special request from a dear friend of mine Samir Balwani made it to the top of our list. He requested a drink that would be ideal for shots, totally unique, and cool. Easy enough 🙂

These were the steps taken to make this particular brewery label.
First we start with the sketch, and there were lots of ideas going back and forth. General guidelines and feelings, but for the most part the client was receptive to new ideas and was willing to leave a lot of the creative elements up to me. I enjoyed this project quite a bit, mostly because of the people I was working with.
First we started with sketch work the client had done previously, ideas he had, thoughts on the topic. I asked him what his goals were, what kind of feelings he wanted to evoke. Asked him what styles he liked, showed him a few varied examples to get an idea. Fortunately, his ideas were mostly simple, elegant, and clean designs. I enjoyed that. Yay, I filed for an LLC. That makes me a CEO. Kind of cool I guess. I don’t feel any different, am I supposed to be getting a package in the mail that teaches me how to be a jerk, or will that just happen over time? ha ha, just kidding.
Seriously, though: Geekglassware.com is also now live, and so is the Etsy page, facebook page, and twitter account. Also made the subreddit for a small nest of future planning that I’ve got in mind with the help from my best CEO-friend, Samir Balwani (he owns and runs SiteFox.com. I traded him tech support for advice and all that 🙂
The homepage for geekglassware is just a landing page, takes you directly to my Etsy account (which I am both proud and sad to say is nearly sold out of inventory). More glasses coming soon!
I did it. For the countless e-mails I’ve received, for my love of big projects, for Star Wars, and for myself. I remade the star wars mosaic. Admittedly, I did not spend as much time creating it as I did the first time. Whether it’s because I’m better at it than I was, whether I was just lazier and didn’t take as much care, who knows. I have created a few print size downloads, one is 300 dpi , one is 600dpi, and one is 900 dpi. Continue reading for the download links and more screenshots.
