Footprint Fitness

I was recently approached to help do some logo design. It was for a friend, so I did free of charge (permitting he’d allow me to post it on my website)

Here’s the original doodle he sent me, his wife was actually the doodler.

I’ll skip all the version stuff because nobody really wants to see it except him and I. Here are a bunch of color swatches he asked for on the final version(s). The last two are an alternate version for a green initiative. I enjoyed this a lot, mostly because of who I was working with but also because the underlying reasons and motivations were very similar to another project I’ve been working on. Also, I like curvy things.

Jeremy Sciarappa – Dark Screen Films

I did the logo design as well (which appears on the back), but that was a separate project and, in internet terms, ancient history.

Also, I realized I should probably be watermarking my images and not putting ultra high resolution versions up on the internet.

    Anywho, some card-age!

        Business Card Typography

        [wdgpo_plusone]
I found that it’s a lot easier to cut up my playing around into small segments, this way I can really try a specific concept or idea and not adulterate it with seven other ideas, and critiques are easier to make.

Admittedly, this is FAR easier than a large scale project, and the speed of start to finish is far more enjoyable and gratifying. Let me know what you think PLEASE. The featured image wasn’t a real try, it was just for fun, but I’ll link the full size of that too in case you are curious.

          Superman’s critique on Man

          [wdgpo_plusone]
It’s a quote from Kill Bill, easily my favorite one. Please critique me! I suck at typography, help me not suck.

Hit the read more to see it, it’s a little big to put on my home page…

Once upon a type in the west

            [wdgpo_plusone]
I was bored….that’s the whole story.
I had wanted to do this for a while, and it’s relatively simple. You see, I suck at typography, and therefore I can churn out little pet projects like this without caring much. I’m sure some of my friends would love to tell me the fifty things I did wrong here, and that’s what that comment section below is for :) . Don’t get me wrong, I do want to get better, but since I’m pretty bad (compared to actual typographers) I’m not burdened by perfection. so blah. Make me not suck!
